Taxi driver medical in North Yorkshire

Which doctor North Yorkshire will accept, how often you have to repeat it and which form they want. Councils disagree with each other on every one of those, so this is North Yorkshire’s answer and nobody else’s.

What North Yorkshire requires

• “a medical assessment carried out to the appropriate standard no more than one month prior to the date of application (if the licence has not been determined within four months of the date shown on the medical assessment, a further assessment must be obtained);”
• How long it lasts: 1 month - the medical must be carried out no more than one month prior to the date of application. There is then a second, longer backstop: if the licence has not been determined within four months of the date on the medical assessment, a further assessment must be obtained
• How often: On application, then every five years from the age of 45 until 65, then annually
• Form: council's own (Report of Medical Examination of Applicant for Hackney Carriage or Private Hire Drivers Licence, 8 pages, obtained from North Yorkshire Council and assessed to DVLA Group 2 standards)
