TaxiTools in ChatGPT: privacy
This page covers the TaxiTools plugin for ChatGPT. It looks up published taxi and private hire licensing rules and fees for UK licensing areas. The short version: it stores nothing about you.
What TaxiTools receives
When ChatGPT decides TaxiTools can help, it sends the plugin a request. The plugin is built to ask only for the name of a licensing area, such as "Leeds". ChatGPT may also attach technical details of its own to a request. TaxiTools does not ask for, and has no use for, your name, your contact details or anything about your health.
What TaxiTools keeps
Nothing. The plugin does not write logs, and the web server is set not to record any request made to it. There are no accounts, no cookies and no tracking, and no IP addresses are stored. Each request is answered and then forgotten.
What TaxiTools sends back
Only public information: the licensing rules and fees each council publishes, with a link to the council's own page and to the matching TaxiTools page. Nothing is sold, shared or passed on, because there is nothing kept to share.
ChatGPT itself
Your conversation happens in ChatGPT, run by OpenAI, and is covered by OpenAI's privacy policy. TaxiTools cannot see your conversation and has no control over what OpenAI keeps. You can stop using TaxiTools at any time by removing or disconnecting it in ChatGPT.
