Taxi driver medical in Rutland

Which doctor Rutland will accept, how often you have to repeat it and which form they want. Councils disagree with each other on every one of those, so this is Rutland’s answer and nobody else’s.

What Rutland requires

• “The group 2 medical assessment must be completed by a doctor registered and licensed to practice in the UK or registered within the EU. If the applicant's own doctor completes the medical assessment it may speed up the application, as they already have full access to their medical records”
• How long it lasts: Medical assessment must be no older than four months at the time of submission with the application. Runs to SUBMISSION, not to grant
• How often: First application, then every three years upon renewal, then annually once the applicant reaches 65. Also at any other time the licensing authority requests
• Form: Council's own – 'Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Drivers Group 2 Medical Certificate: Guidance for Applicants and Medical Practitioners'
• Possible exemption: Not published – no HGV/PSV/PCV or Group 2 licence exemption. The HGV/PSV mention is only the form explaining what the Group 2 standard is
