Taxi driver medical in Isle of Wight

Which doctor Isle of Wight will accept, how often you have to repeat it and which form they want. Councils disagree with each other on every one of those, so this is Isle of Wight’s answer and nobody else’s.

Who can carry it out

Any GMC-registered doctor

The most relaxed category there is. Any doctor on the GMC register can sign it, so a private medical centre is generally faster and cheaper than waiting for a GP appointment.

What Isle of Wight requires

“Group 2 medical examination must be carried out every five years up to age 65 years unless restricted to a shorter period for medical reasons”
How often: Every five years up to age 65, then annually from 65. The council can also shorten the interval for medical reasons
Form: The council's Taxi medical form. The examination may be done by your own GP or another Medical Practitioner - the Isle of Wight does not insist on your own doctor
