Taxi driver medical in Brighton and Hove

Who can carry it out

Your own GP, or a doctor with your records

Your own practice is the straightforward route, but another doctor can do it if they have had full access to your medical history. Private clinics that request your records can qualify. One that examines you without them cannot.

What Brighton and Hove requires

“We'll give you a medical form at your first application appointment. This needs to be completed by your registered GP. This will be assessed by our independent medical advisor to ensure you comply with the DVLA group 2 standards”
How long it lasts: 1 year - and it runs to completing the whole application, not to submitting it: 'your DBS disclosure and medical are both valid for one year... if you have not passed all your tests within one year, you will be required to re-submit a new medical'
How often: new applicants, then at 45, 50, 55, 65, then annually (the council's list skips 60 - quoted verbatim), plus 'at any time as required by the Council', plus a full medical alongside any 3-yearly cardiac evidence the DVLA requires
