For the 3am shift
Places that are open 24 hours or have a drive-through, so you can get a coffee and a break without leaving the car for long or finding everything shut.
These places come from OpenStreetMap, which is maintained by volunteers. A place is listed if it's tagged as open 24/7, or as having a drive-through. That covers most big chains and motorway services well, and independents patchily — a quiet local place that's open all night may simply not be recorded.
Toilets are barely tagged. Only a small fraction of these stops record whether there's a toilet, so there's no filter for it — filtering would hide hundreds of places that do have one. Where it is recorded, you'll see a badge.
Opening hours can be wrong or out of date. A 24-hour tag means somebody recorded it as 24 hours, not that it definitely is tonight. Chains also cut hours without anyone updating the map. Treat this as a shortlist worth driving to, not a guarantee.
Your postcode is matched against coordinates already inside the file, and "use my location" is handled by your own phone. No location or search is ever sent anywhere. The server counts how many times each page is opened, the same as any website does, but it records no IP address, no device details and nothing you typed.
